Huddersfield Giants have dealt with another injury setback. Captain, Adam Clune is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a serious hamstring industry.

The halfback is expected to miss between 12 and 16 weeks which is during a crucial time for the Giants after a difficult start to this campaign.

Since arriving to the Giants in 2024, Clune has struggled with injuries. Earlier this season, the Australian half-back missed the opening seven games for Huddersfield with a persistent calf injury. The comeback after this injury happened to coincide with the giants first win of the season over York Knights which underlines his importance of his presence to the side.

The timing of this injury has come at a really concerning time for the Giants. This comes after the Giants have just announced their new coach Jim Lenihan after the departure of Luke Robinson. The Giants are currently sitting on the bottom of the table on points difference and they have had an ongoing injury crisis since pre-season.

Adam Clune is one of the Giants key playmakers for the Giants and this leaves the squad weakened heading into an important part of the season.

Clune made just six appearances for the Giants last season due to his injuries and now this season is being heavily disturbed because of it. The Giants are expected to rely on Tongan international, Tui Lolohea and Oli Russell in the halves while Clune begins with his recovery.
