Arsenal W.F.C have announced forward Beth Mead will leave the club at the end of the season, bringing her nine-year spell year at the club to an end. The 31-year-old England international joined the Gunners from Sunderland women in 2017 and has since become one of the main stars. During her time at the club Mead has scored 86 goals in 263 appearances as well as helping the team win several major trophies such as the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the WSL, Women’s champions cup as well as three league cups.

Arsenal’s director of women’s football, Clare Wheatley, praised Mead for her outstanding contribution to the club, describing her as “one of our best forwards” and “a legend of the club.” Wheatley also highlighted Mead’s importance both on and off the pitch, adding that she will always be welcomed back by Arsenal supporters and staff.
Mead has also enjoyed major international success with England women’s national football team, playing a key role in England’s victory at UEFA Women’s Euro 2022. She finished the tournament as both Player of the Tournament and Golden Boot winner. Reports suggest that London City Lionesses and Manchester City W.F.C. are interested in signing her
