A former Kirklees police officer who attempted to avoid facing penalties for speeding has been convicted after pleading guilty to perverting the course of justice. PC Abigail Byrne who was based in the Kirklees area was found to have provided a false or misleading account to avoid receiving two speeding offences in January of this year.
She was court speeding on the A629 in Huddersfield on the 29th of January and 31st of January. After receiving the speeding offences, her former partner accepted the speed awareness course and points on their behalf.
