Just over three weeks ago The Light opened its doors to the public after much anticipation. With a 6-screen cinema, axe throwing, rock climbing and many more activities to get involved in.
All ages filled The Light on opening weekend, excited to see Huddersfield newest attraction but how are they getting on almost a month after opening.
Operations manager Andy Spratt says ‘’Footfall has increased more and more each week, and we are aiming to get an average of 8,000 guests every weekend!’’.
Spratt also said ‘’there is much more to come such as Lazer-tag that will be perfect for large group events such as birthday parties, we didn’t want to overwhelm the public with too much too early on, so we decided to hold this feature until the summer’’.
Let’s hope that The Light continues to thrive and bring people of all ages together. As a sense of community seems to have been lost in Huddersfield in recent months after loosing shops such as Footasylum, KFC and Slug and Lettuce.
But with a restaurant and bar the light offers fun through out the day for the community of Huddersfield. All we can do now is give them the support they need to keep The Light as Huddersfield’s new hotspot.
