Inter Milan defeated Barcelona 4-3 in the semi finals of this year’s Champions League in another nail biting tie between these two European giants.

Inter got off to a trailblazing start to the match, yet again going up two nil thanks to goals from Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu. The Italian giants succumbed to Barcelona’s dazzling forward line with an Eric Garcia volley and Dani Olmo header, equalising and sending the Blaugrana’s away support into a frenzy.

Barca were not winning at any point during the 2 legs until the 87th minute, when Raphina thought he had sent Barcelona to their first champions league final since 2015. The San Siro erupted when Francisco Acerbi levelled the tie yet again in added time to secure extra time. Penalties loomed, with both sides peppering the goal with chances. Davide Fratessi finally buried Barcelona, with his late winner making it 7-6 on aggregate across the two legs.

Inter’s final opponents will soon be revealed tonight when Paris Saint Germain take on Arsenal at the Parc De Princes. The Gunners are down 1-0 after the first leg thanks to an Ousmane Dembele opener, with Mikel Arteta’s side hoping to rescue their season after a disappointing end to their Premier League campaign. Liverpool sealed first position in the domestic league over last weekend, leaving the Champions League all they have to play for.

The final of the competition will take place on the 31st of may at the Munich Football Arena, the home of Bayern Munich.
