150,000 Leeds United fans took to the city centre to celebrate their promotion to the Premier League after a 2 year hiatus from the top flight.
They were officially promoted on Easter Sunday after comfortably beating Stoke City 6-0 and a last gasp winner vs Plymouth on the 3rd of May.
The parade was meant to begin at 1pm but fans were lining the street a whole 90 minutes before the open top bus parade had begun. The 150,000 fans were in full force over the bank holiday with blue and yellow smoke filling the city centre among fans singing ‘I predict a riot’, a song which has become synonymous with the club. It was hard to tell who enjoyed it more, the fans or the players. From the open roof on the bus you could see the Leeds players relishing the moment. With players like Ethan Ampadu often getting on the microphone and jeering on the fans by starting chants and speaking to the fans.
