Two sides in West Yorkshire had their season come to an end last night as they got knocked out their respective play offs semi finals.
Emley based in Huddersfield and Guiseley near Leeds have had both good seasons in their own divisions which are the Northern Premier League East Division and the Northern Premier League Premier Division
Both teams traveled to the North East on Tuesday evening to sides who finished above them in the league
Guiseley headed to Stockton Town who finished 3rd in the Northern Premier League where the team from Leeds finished 4th.
Kevin Hayes was the only scorer in the game as he put Stockton 1-0 up on 66 minutes. Most teams who lose in play off finals often bounce back the next season. Guiseley have had experience in the National League and the National League North so you would expect them to be back in the leagues above soon.
Emley got promoted from the Northern Counties East League Premier Division last season as champions. They have had a remarkable season and managed to scrape a play off place on the last day! They traveled to Dunston near Gateshead for their semi in the Northern Premier League East Division.
Unfortunately, it was a similar scoreline to Guiseley’s as they lost 1-0 but only in the 90th minute with Dan Turner scoring.
Let’s hope both of these sides will bounce back!
