Huddersfield Town Ladies have completed the signing of striker Katie Astle from York City Ladies. Astle struck 14 times in the first half of the campaign for the Minster Belles.
The 23-year old joins a Terriers side sat 4th in the league, who are six places above York. The forward said “I’m thrilled about joining Huddersfield Town. Town are a very strong, competitive team and I want to compete and repay the faith the manager has shown. I’m excited to get on the pitch and make my debut for this big club.”
Astle added that she “I want to establish myself in the squad and help the team as much as I can with goals and assists, but I really hope we can push for promotion. I know this team has the quality to win the league. I’m buzzing to put on the shirt and get on the pitch.”
Katie will be available for their next league game against league leaders Chorley at the Stafflex Arena this Sunday.
