Liam Rosenior has been sacked as manager of Hull City after missing out on the Championship play-offs after a final day defeat to Plymouth Argyle 1-0.
Rosenior joined the club in November 2022 and recently signed a new 3 year deal to keep him at the club in December.
Hull chairman and owner Acun Ilicali said ‘this has been the most difficult decision I have had to make as chairman of this football club, I have to remove personal sentiment from these moments and ensure the long-term vision of the club is at the centre of my thinking’
The Tigers finished seventh, three points outside the play-off spots and Rosenior hoped he would be at the helm for the side to return stronger next season.
However, Hull only won twice at the start of 2024 and only three times in their final thirteen games of the season.
Rosenior was shortlisted for Championship manager of the season alongside Ipwswich’s Kieran McKenna and Leeds’ Daniel Farke.
He took over as manager with Hull one point above the relegation zone in 2022/23 and guided them to 15th place last season.
