Emley Fc will take on Parkgate tomorrow night in the Northern Counties East League cup final at Scunthorpe’s Glanford Park.
The fixture marks a first competitive meeting of the sides since 2021, and the sides meet after both winning their retrospective leagues.
Emley finished on 85 points, wrapping up the title at the end of March, finishing 9 points clear of second placed Campion. It was a different story entirely for Parkgate however who finished on a whopping 107 points, but it wasn’t plain sailing. They only finished 4 points ahead of Beverly Town after a remarkable title battle with 3 teams reaching 100 points.
Emley will be ready and raring though for this fixture after their league campaign was wrapped up by the 9th April and have only played cup games against Bottesford and Rossington in the 29 days prior to that.
Jason Atack, a member of Emley AFC’s supporters group summarised his thoughts on the season the Pewits have had “The coaching team has worked wonders, we retained the players from last season and the team has gelled pretty quickly and we seem to have a greater strength in depth this season”.
Kick off is at 7:45pm and the tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions. Two turnstiles will be in operation, one for cash and one for cards.
