Voters in Kirklees are heading in their masses to their local polling stations.
Most residents in West Yorkshire aged 18 or over are eligible to vote, provided they registered before the deadline. Voters are reminded bring their photo ID in order to vote in person.
Registered voters will be able vote at their local polling stations from 07:00 to 22:00
This is the second time that the region, has had a mayoral election. The first ever election for West Yorkshire mayor in 2021 when current Mayor Tracy Brabin was elected.
