Judd Trumps chances of achieving a second world Snooker Championship has been shattered by qualifier Jak Jones in a Crucible upset.

Jones, who is world No 44 pounced on the errors by the former champion to overturn a 8-8 tie into a 13-9 win to reach the final four for the first ever time.

Trump in his post match interview, offered no excuses for his performance and blamed himself for the loss, not the slow play of Jones as reported. “I felt like I had a lot of chances and I didn’t take them” and “I had more than enough chances to win, so I only have myself to blame”.

Jones who reached the quarters at the Crucible last year on debut, becomes the first ever man to reach back to back quarter finals on their first two trips to the Crucible, he is now only two wins away from cementing his name in snooker history.
