Ex-players such as Andy Booth and executives were out in force for the event at the John Smith’s stadium to celebrate 30 years since the move from the Leeds Road stadium.
The memorabilia was on show, from old programs, to pieces of the players baths. They were all on show in a separate room close to where the event was happening.
The Town’s Icons, talked about the tipping point for when the stadium was needed to change. The Cow Shed Stand roof, which was the most famous stand from Leeds Road, was broken and the club couldn’t afford to pay the £10,000 to fix it.
Then there was also experiences from one of Peter Jackson’s first trips to the Leeds Road Stadium, where a scarf meant so much to someone that he even had someone threaten him to take it. Although this didn’t stop him from going and eventually playing for the Terries from 1990 till 1994.
