An area of Bradford city centre will have its public spaces improved after work finally began more than three years after funding was granted.

The upgrade will include a new cycle lane and bike racks, alongside other installations such as new paving, pedestrian crossings and tree pits.

Signs on Darley Street are notifying motorists, pedestrians and business owners to expect disruption in the area until late May.

Bradford Council first announced it was applying for funding for the project in 2021, with funding coming from Active Travel England’s Active Travel Fund through West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
