In HD8, our very own Scissett FC are going up!
They play in the Yorkshire Amateur League sponsored by Absolute Warehouse Services Ltd and have gone all the way and are looking down on the rest of the league with a game to spare.
They could have won the league, but their rivals opposition just had too many games in hand, and Scissett let top spot slip away, but it didn’t matter in the end as Sowerby bridge did not have the legs to go the distance and steal a promotion spot.
Speaking after the defeat against Sowerby Bridge, young starlet and breakout star of the season Matthew Hall said “Promotion is ours and we’ve got to look at that and prepare for next season”
His partner in crime Adam Mckie said “you’ve got to understand were not professional footballers, we’re doing this for fun and we are having just that, which is always good”
The final game of the season is tomorrow against Wakefield United FC, as Scissett look to bounce back from successive defeats and finish the season with a win in front of their home crowd.
