The Magic Weekend took place at St James Park in Newcastle and the headlines were taken by the Huddersfield Giants Defeated Hull FC 12-10 in a hard-fought controversy filled encounter. 

It was a huge win for Luke Robinson’s men has they picked up their first points of the season the pressure was brewing for the Giants to pick up their first win as Matty English Giants prop admitted in the build up to the Magic Weekend “as the games keep going on and on each week after week, we’re still looking for that first wing. I think, think there is pressure, and we kind of spoke about that as a group, that we’re kind of putting, putting everyone else’s opinions and everything as white noise and just focusing on us and what what our opinions are and the pressure that we put on ourselves. And we know our performance has probably not been good enough this year, but we’re still back our group that we’re good enough to get the job done.” 

tries by Leroy Cudjoe and Jacob Gagai were enough to beat 12 men Hull Fc. The black and whites went down to 12 men just before the half time break as Liam Knight made contact with the head using his elbow a clear red card which presented the Giants with a huge opportunity that they took.  

the other results from Magic Weekend were on Saturday Leigh 26 Catalans 24, Hull KR 54 Salford 0, St Helens 4 Leeds 17 and on Sunday alongside the Giants win, Wigan Warriors 22, Warrington 20, Castleford Tigers 8, Wakefield Trinity 32. 

The total attendance for the weekend was 64,000 the best since 2018
