
The man suspected of a terror attack in Leeds with a crossbow has died.
This attack took place in Leeds Headingley on the popular Otley run road where many university students dress up and go out on the weekends.
The students were the planned victims of this attack.
Owen Lawrence,38, planned a terror attack on his Facebook page before the incident. The counter-terrorism police investigated this incident that took place on the 27th of April.
Two women aged 19 and 31 were hospitalised following this account getting treated. One got discharged later in the night.
The 19-year-old victim had to undergo surgery after receiving life-threatening injuries and is currently still in hospital.
Owen Lawrence was arrested that night and transported to hospital with self-inflicted injuries following his attack.
On the 29th of April Mr Lawrence was announced dead.
West Yorkshire Police Steve Dodds said: “We fully appreciate the understandable shock and concern this incident has caused in the Headingley community, and we are continuing to work closely alongside our partner agencies to support and reassure those living, working, studying or living in the area”.
This attack has prompted more security and safety measures to be made at these events such as the Otley run.
