Saddleworth Rangers u15’s will venture to the island of Jamaica to share their knowledge and techniques of rugby league. Since the 2022 rugby world cup were Jamaica made their mark on the game of rugby league scoring their first points, the sport has soared within public schools and clubs ever since. 

Rangers will take on this adventure and use it as an opportunity to connect, bond and learn from the Jamaican school teams as there is bound to be some tips and tricks to be learnt.

They will play four games on this tour as well as group activities across the ten days to really let the boys interact not only on the pitch but also off the pitch as rugby league is a sport were connections and friendships are built for life, due to the vast amounts of physical contact players soon learn that it is only a game, but these friendships will last an eternity.

Head coach Jonny Johnson says that ‘’all the boys are absolutely chuffed that we are going to one of the Caribbean islands, normally rugby tours are based in France or Italy, but we have really taken our tour to new levels showing everybody that we want more underdeveloped teams to have the same opportunities as our boys do’.

Rangers will take on this adventure and use it as an opportunity to connect, bond and learn from the Jamaican school teams as there is bound to be some tips and tricks to be learnt.

This tour has also made history before it has even started as it is the largest tour Rangers has ever had, taking a whopping 72 people with them for this adventure.  Player’s family and friends will be joining the boys on this roller coaster tour to show their support and appreciation of the club.

Most of these boys have been playing together from as young as 4 years old and have made friendships that will last a lifetime, going on an experience like this will create memories that both teams will be able to remember for the rest of their lives knowing that they made history in rugby league.
