Former Rangers footballer and England international, Jermain Defoe believes manager Philippe Clement will give Rangers the edge in the Scottish Premiership title race, as they ace fierce Glasgow rivals, Celtic this Saturday.
The Belgian international has helped turn the club back into title contenders, since his arrival in October. Defoe, who won the league with Rangers in 2021, says he’s a big fan of Clement.
A win on Saturday or ‘The Gers’ would see the side move joint top with Celtic, with both sides being on 84 points per the result. Both teams going into the match and good form with the SPL now splitting off into the Championship and Relegation format.
The two sides will meet once more after this result in the Scottish cup final with ‘The Bhoys’ looking to win the competition for the second consecutive season after they defeated Inverness Caledonian Thistle 3-1 at Hampden Park.
