Borussia Dortmund tonight host newly crowned French champions Paris Saint-Germain, in what looks set to be an exciting first-leg of the Champions League semi-final with both sides hoping to already get one foot in the final after 90 minutes.

Dortmund will be looking to make a return to Wembley, where they lost in the final against Bayern Munich in 2013, the German side overcame Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals 5-4. Austrian Marcel Sabitzer scoring the winner after a thrilling tie.

Meanwhile PSG came from behind against Barcelona to win 4-1 away at the Nou Camp against Xavi’s ten men to secure a place in the final four, a brilliant performance from Kylian Mbappe helped the French giants through to their first European semi-final since 2021.

Domestically Dortmund aren’t having the best of seasons, currently sitting fifth in the Bundesliga and having to settle for Europa League next season as it stands.

It is business as usual in France though as PSG secured twelfth Ligue 1 title over the weekend after Monaco failed to win away at Lyon.

Both sides showed resilience and determination in their quarter-final ties, overcoming a first-leg deficit. PSG go into the tie as favourites but in a sold out and bouncing Signal Iduna Park, Edin Terzic’s men will give the visitors possibly their biggest challenge yet.

With Real Madrid holding Bayern Munich to a 2-2 draw last night at the Allianz Arena the final is still unpredictable and with tonight’s sides being so close in quality, it is hard to say who will be facing off under the famous arches of Wembley.
