Yorkshire pair Harry Brook and Jonny Bairstow have been included in the provisional squad for the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup. However, Dewsbury born bowler Tymal Mills was unfortunate to miss out on a place.
Brook comes off the back of scoring a century against Derbyshire in this weekend’s County Championship clash. Bairstow comes into the squad but will be likely be used as a special batter instead of his usual keeping position.
Meanwhile, Jofra Archer has also been named in the 15-man squad after a year long struggle with injury. This has been a recurring theme for Archer who has been limited to 15 T20Is for England since making his debut in 2019.
Captain Jos Buttler is one of the nine players returning from the 2022 T20 World Cup success in Australia along with Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan and Mark Wood.
England will be looking to successfully defend their World Cup when the tournament takes place in the West Indies and the USA in June.
